For us, working as a collective means acting in solidarity and bringing social aspects to the fore. Decisions are made collectively and responsibilities are shared. We work without a boss and everyone is paid equally. A collective workplace is always a compromise and an experiment. We have given ourselves our own statutes (in German) as there is no legislation governing collectives.
United we stand!
United we stand, divided we fall, is our credo. We don’t only work together closely with the cooperatives in the coffee-producing countries, we are also active in and network with many other associations. Presently, the most important ones are:
- Roasters United: network of direct trade roasteries
- The union coop // federation
- El Rojito: Coffee with solidarity
- Quijote Kaffee: Hamburg coffee roastery
